Andalusia continued to roll and remained unbeaten in the league with a well-balanced attack in a region victory at Geneva on Friday evening.

The Bulldogs improved to 7-0 overall and 4-1 overall and 4-0 4A Region 2 by winning. The Panthers fell to 2-5 and 1-3 in the region.

Andalusia began scoring in the opening quarter in the first quarter when Jack Lathrop threw a 25-yard touchdown pass to Kal Crittenden. The score was held at 6-0 until the two-point conversion failed to be bad with a minute remaining in the opening quarter. Lathrop was in the air once more and made contact to J’Marion Burnette on a 77-yard touchdown pass. Cobb Stewart’s kickoff allowed the Bulldogs an 13-0 lead at 7:05.

Zerrick Jones found the finish zone with a runner from just five yards, and the kick was good for a lead of 20-0 with 4:34 remaining. The rout continued at 1:21 when Burnette broke free and sped up 41 yards to the goal line. The extra point was not successful and left the score at 26-0 following the initial.

Jones opened the second half by scoring a 40-yard run and Stewart’s kick-off made it 33-0 at 9:22 before halftime. Geneva was able to stop the stalemate with 2:23 left in the game after Justin King threw a 39-yard touchdown pass to Cayden Weeks. The punt was perfect and the score was 33-7 at the half.

Noah Curry took over at quarterback in the second quarter and was able to get going with an 68-yard touchdown at the time of 10:39. Stewart scored the PAT to give the Panthers an early lead of 40-7 in three quarters. The Panthers finished the scoring at 4:20 into the game. Tanner Sizemore had an 18-yard touchdown pass to Om’zavious Peacock. The touchdown attempt failed and the final score was at 40-13.

Lathrop was 5-of-5 passing with two touchdowns and 117 yards. Curry was 2-of-3 with 44 yards. Jones was the leading rusher with four carries that added the 104-yard mark and two scores. Burnette was able to run five times for 76 yards, and was then followed by Curry who had three carries to gain an average of 68 yards. Jordyn Skanes recorded seven plays on the ground, totalling 32 yards. Burnette was the only receiver of 77 yards, and scoring and Calvin Daniels and Crittenden collected 35 and 44 yards in the air as well. Cadariyus Love was also an impressive catch of five yards during the victory.

Landen Marshall Xavier Marshall, and Nelix Ferrell led the defensive team with a combined four tackles. Kam Weaver had three tackles. He was closely followed by Tristan Pitts, Landon Caldwell, Riley Tucker, and Jimmy White, who all recorded two tackles. The defense was able to only allow Geneva to gain 174 yards in total offense.

Andalusia is still in the middle of the road against Slocomb (1-5 (0-4) in a different region match on Oct. 5. 13.
