A local business was ordered to close following it was discovered that the Andalusia Police Department executed a search warrant at the business this morning.
The Chief Paul Hudson said the APD began an investigation following several reports of illegal activity within Mellow Haze, located at 1102 Martin Luther King Jr. Expressway in Andalusia.
The company was licensed to sell cigarettes from Alabama. State of Alabama, and also had a retail sales permit within Andalusia, the City of Andalusia.
The APD obtained a warrant for a search and executed it around nine a.m. early on Friday. Chief Hudson confirmed that numerous items would be handed over into the Department of Forensic Sciences for evaluation. The items of the business were confiscated through an order issued by Covington County’s Circuit Court of Covington County in the midst of an investigation into the possibility of illegal activity.
The investigation is still ongoing. There are no arrests at the moment.
