Calhoun County, AL Calhoun County, Alabama McGatha and the defending champions Wigington, Rollins and Brooks make it to the semifinals, as the top four seeds move on to the finals on Sunday.
The rule was chalk during the tournament on Saturday, 2023. Calhoun County Match Play championship at the Anniston Municipal Golf Course.
Four of the top seeds No. 1, Jeremy McGatha, No. 2. Gary Wigington, No. 3 John Rollins and No. four Andrew Brooks — advanced to the semifinals. McGatha will take on Brooks and Wigington will take on Rollins in the final on Saturday at 10:30 a.m.
The deadline time is 12:30 p.m.
McGatha started the weekend by scoring a 3-1 defeat of 16 seeds Chase Hollingsworth then beat No. Eight Dustin Travis 4 & 3. Travis defeated No. nine Randy Lipscomb 6 & 5 in the opening round.
Brooks defeated No. 13 Hunter Carr 2 & 1 in the first round. Brooks also beat No. five Brennan Clay 2 & 1 in the quarterfinals. Clay began with a 7-6 defeat over no. 12 Mason Dennis.
On the other end of the bracket Wigington is the defending champion, defeated No. fifteen Daniel Black 3 & 2 and No. 9 Tanner Wells 5 & 4. Wells scored 6 and 5 ahead of No. 10, Vance Lewis in the first round.
Rollins’s track included a one-up victory over No. 14 Ott Chandler, and a 3 and 2 victories over No. 8 Kevin Daugherty. Daugherty won 4 and 3 on No. 11. Sawyer Edwards.
