Amy Demboski, Municipal Manager at the June Anchorage Assembly meeting (Lextreinen/Alaska Public Media).

Anchorage Mayor Dave Bronson announced Monday that Amy Demboski, the Municipal Manager, was being replaced immediately.

According to Bronson’s short written statement, Kent Kohlhase, Public Works Director, is now acting as the municipal manager.

The statement didn’t provide any further details. It is not clear why Demboski is leaving. The office of the mayor could not be reached immediately for comment.

Last month, Kohlhase was named the city’s public work director. He had previously been the director of Project Management and Engineering Department.

Demboski was appointed municipal manager last summer when Bronson assumed office. She was an Anchorage Assembly former member, representing the Eagle River region.

This is still a developing story. Keep checking back for more updates.
