      • The purchase price was 3900 dollars per 16.19 acres.
      • Commoner Shears stated that he abstained due to the fact that the seller was a distant cousin and he wanted to stay absent from the vote however, he supports the purchase.
      • Commissioner Henderson said that this was an idea from her deceased husband and Commission Eli Henderson, and she was thrilled and proud have the opportunity to witness this happen.
    • NEAL Community Foundation Agreement – Challenger Learning Center – STEM Program –

      • The County has pledged $25,000 over four year for four years.
    • Permit-Lease Use Agreement – Gadsden State/Calhoun County Career Academy

      Unanimously approved

      • A school agreement allows for the use of a part of the county’s land for care technology training, focusing on skid steer instruction.
    • McWhorter Co., Inc. MOA – Animal Control McWhorter Co., Inc.

      Unanimously endorsed

      • McWhortor Co., Inc will sign an agreement to give works for improvements to the site of the county animal control department.
      • Commissioner Howell said that the company has been extremely supportive and would like to do more to assist.
    • Public Works Resolution – Highway Department Highway Department Fuel Island Repair –

      Unanimously approved

      • The total cost has been set to be kept under $100,000.
    • Modification to Employment Contract County Attorney Unanimously approved

  • Public Comments

    • Audrey Maxwell with the Chamber of Commerce said that this is a hectic period and there are a lot of occasions scheduled, and many more planned for 2024.
    • A representative of Calhoun County Schools. Calhoun County Schools shared the numerous sporting achievements as well as the building improvement projects that are taking place.
    • Julie Borrelli spoke about her candidacy for the Calhoun County Probate judge. Borrelli wanted to express her enthusiasm and willingness to invest the effort and time that this job requires.
    • Jakob Williamson with the Chamber informed that there will be an open house for elected officials on Tuesday as well as the Berman Museum is open from 5 at 6:00 pm to 6:30 in the evening.
    • The Commissioner Fred Wilson spoke to recognize the Veterans present, as well as everyone who served.
    • Amanda Draper, County HR Director she expressed gratitude to the commission for approving the scheduled paid holiday. She said this would provide an incentive to hiring managers to take advantage of the paid holidays.
