Mediacom Communications recognized Andalusia resident Austin Creel as an employee who earned the top ranking in its performance for exceptional customer service and high-quality broadband services.


Creel was honored as an Area Operation Employee of the Year in the recent event, which was attended by top executives from corporations.


“It was great to be honored with the prize. I try my best to solve any problem I can. I am happy with my job and being able to assist others and challenge myself each morning,” Creel said.


He was among 40 employees across the country to receive an award from the system for exceptional services in 2023. He is a specialist in broadband and has been an Mediacom employee since 2021.


Creel acknowledged his coworkers for their help in completing his task.


“I’m happy with the team who I collaborate with. They’re always there for me if have any concerns or questions regarding what’s going on. I am looking forward to working every day to give to our clients the very best service I am able to offer at every time I work,” he said.


His parents are Trisha Creel as well as John Lunsford.


The company is all-inclusive. Mediacom employs over 4,000 people and the award winners were among 195 employees who were recognized for their achievements in the last year. The recipients of awards receive a cash bonus, as well as other employee recognition.
