- Climate change is upon us and is threatening the wellbeing, health and ways of Alaskans across the state. That’s the message that’s echoed throughout a new federal report that was released today.
- An U.S. Coast Guard helicopter crashed at around 10:40 p.m. this evening at Read Island in Farragut Bay located about 22 miles north of Petersburg. There were four people on the crew and all of them survived.
- European green crabs haven’t yet made it to Sitka at this point at least. In the Alaska Invasive Species Partnership session on Thursday in Sitka experts from all over the coast of Alaska discussed current methods to combat these crabs that are invasive.
- Lt. Gov. Nancy Dahlstrom announced today that she is running for Alaska’s sole place within the U.S. House of Representatives and is challenging Congresswoman Mary Peltola.
