- Juneau School District Juneau School District finished the financial year last with a $200,000 deficit within its operating funds. This is according to an audit that was presented by the board of school Tuesday. This autumn has increased the deficit to more than $3 million.
- Very few people in Juneau have heard of Jimmy Manning. For the majority of the past century, Manning was the town’s most well-known athlete. in the 60s a new set of baseball fields at Savikko Park were named after the player.
