Mrs. Paula Kimbro Hester, aged 77, from Andalusia died on Saturday, November. 18 at the Opp Health and Rehabilitation Center.
The parents of Paula were Ferol as well as Olene Kimbro. She lived as a child in Andalusia until 1965, when the family relocated into Ft. Walton Beach. Following her education, Paula’s career as an insurance representative took her into south Florida in which she came across her spouse, Wiley “Buck” Hester. They got married in 1987, and they became active members of the Florida Gardens Baptist Church in Lake Worth, Florida. Many wonderful friendships were made there, however in 2006 after three hurricanes within 13 months They decided to make Andalusia their home for retirement. In Andalusia, Paula renewed many old friendships, and she as well as Buck established many new friendships while attending The First Baptist Church.
Paula was a warm and outgoing personality. her infectious laughter was heard on numerous occasions. She was also very involved in The Red Cross, Pilot Club as well as the Andalusia Humane Society, and her passion for collecting dolls, cups and bells.
Paula’s greatest joy and pride were her son Robert Michael McKinley, Jr. “Mike” and his wife Soraya as well as his grandson Christopher and his granddaughter, Christina. Mike is a retired soldier (Lt. Col.) after which he earned his doctorate, he is now teaching online and in the campus of University of Alabama. Christopher is currently working as an U.S. Army Captain stationed in Georgia. Christina is extremely involved in a variety of activities while an incoming junior student of Thompson High School. Paula will be survived by numerous aunts and cousins who she adored dearly.
After a series of health issues that became serious between 2020 and 2021, Paula was admitted to the Opp Health and Rehab facility. In the facility, she received excellent treatment and care for nearly three years, and for that her family is extremely thankful.
A public viewing took place on the Friday of November. 24 from 10:00 a.m. to noon, at Foreman Funeral Home. A private burial was scheduled solely for family members.
