Opp police are looking for one of their teens for involvement in a murder attempt in November. Two suspects have also been detained in connection with the case.


Jakellus Arnez Lane

As per Alabama CrimeStoppers, the Opp Police Department solicits the assistance of the public in finding the 18 year old Jakellus Arnez Lane. Lane can be described as being a black man with a height of 6 feet and 2 inches tall and weighing around 200 pounds.

Two other individuals, 18 as well as Raheem Bonam 25 were detained on the 30th of November and are currently in custody. Both are accused of attempted murder.

Opp police were called out at an apartment building located on Morning Star Drive on Nov. 16 when they discovered the 20-year-old victim shot numerous times. The victim’s name is not yet known. The last time he was said to be receiving medical treatment at Dothan and was in stable health.

“Law enforcement officers are working hard to find evidence and pursue for justice.” said the OPD news release. “The Opp Police Department remains determined to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the people. The case is still under investigation. OPD is encouraging anyone with any more information regarding the incident to share it and help with the investigation.”
