Calhoun County, AL – A car fire in a commercial fleet has resulted in the closing to all lanes westbound of Interstate 20 near the 194 mile marker in Cleburne County. Cleburne County officials from the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) confirmed that the incident was reported at around 12.55 p.m. on the 7th of December, on a Thursday which caused disruptions and required immediate intervention.

Due to the fire ALEA have implemented a road closure that affects the entire westbound portion of Interstate 20 near the 194 mile marker. The closure is in effect and will remain in effect for a period of undetermined duration, in the meantime of investigations and clearance efforts.

Troopers from Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division are present on the scene and continuously watching the situation. Their main goal is to safeguard drivers and control the flow of traffic in response to the incident. Updates will be issued via ALEA when the incident progresses providing crucial information to those who are affected by the closure of the lane.
