A woman who is an adult and two children are stable after being hit by a truck as they crossed the street to go for Mendenhall River Community College.


The incident occurred on Thursday morning just before the dawn. As per Juneau Police Department spokesperson Lt. Krag Campbell, the incident was a tragic accident.


Its style=”font-weight 400 ;”>”It appears that the preliminary investigation didn’t reveal that there was a violations on behalf of the driver” he stated in an interview with reporters on Friday morning.


She is 19 years old years old, and The children are three and seven. Campbell stated that their injuries were not life-threatening but the 7-year-old was taken out of Juneau for more medical treatment in Seattle on Thursday.

In a post on GoFundMe page created by the aunt of the children, the seven-year-old was injured by a fracture within his hip on the right side. The article also identifies the 19-year-old as their older cousin.


Campbell stated that the three people were not crossing the street on a marked crossing. The driver of the male, who was carrying two children in the truck, informed officers that he was trying to apply his brakes to keep them from hitting him as they crossed the road on Back Loop Road, but was unable to make it happen at the right time.


Campbell claimed that the driver hasn’t been accused and the driver isn’t responsible. He advised those who are in evening hours to dress in dark clothes or equipment that is noticeable to drivers.
