Oxford, AL –In anticipation of the Christmas season The Oxford Public Library has been prepping to host a celebration in its book club for December that is specifically designed for adults. It is scheduled for the 18th of December at 3:00pm, the chosen book will be “The The Christmas Costume” from Courtney Cole.
The story centers about Meg Julliard, a hopeful fashionista who takes an unexpected twist when she is forced to return to her home town of Chicago to oversee the apartment of her father’s. There are a myriad of issues to be faced that range from eccentric tenants that require urgent attention, to disasters involving buildings Meg’s Christmas season appears to be destined for catastrophe. To make matters more complicated There’s a handsome handyman who is able to observe the embarrassing scenes Meg has.
Meet Ellie Wade, a long-time resident of the facility that shares the same lack of Christmas cheer. As she is preparing to downsize in preparation for a move to an assisted living facility, Ellie discovers a dress which holds the most memorable and painful memories from her life. A unlikely bond develops among Meg and Ellie and leads to the discovery of the story behind the dress.
In a touching gift, Ellie gifts the beautiful dress to Meg and asks that she wear it to the Christmas celebration. As if engulfed in Christmas magic the dress is a perfect fit for Meg perfectly to set the stage for her most memorable evening of her lifetime. But the magical moment doesn’t end there. being inspired by the dress Meg sets out on a quest to chase a dream she’s had for a lifetime in order to save the failing Parkview West and restore it to its past splendor. As a result she makes sure that there is a safe place for all residents currently living there.
