Jacksonville, AL – In the effort to increase security and facilitate necessary construction projects, Jacksonville State University (JSU) has announced a temporary shutdown of the sidewalk on Trustee Street adjacent to JSU Stadium. The closure will start on 14 December 2023 and is expected to continue until August 2024.

During this time that pedestrians are on campus must plan their routes to travel, since the affected sidewalk is unaccessible. To ensure that disruptions are minimal the alternative crosswalk will be constructed as well as clearly marked by signs. This alternative path is designed to make sure that there is a smooth flow of pedestrian traffic even as the main sidewalk is temporarily closing.

JSU thanks the cooperation and patience of faculty, students and staff during the temporary change. JSU officials are aware of the disruption that this could cause and have taken appropriate measures to minimize disruptions as much as they can.
