Bond was shortened for woman who was tied to the beating death of gay Phoenix man

An array of mishaps at the court hearing on Wednesday was a way to help Shannon Young score a lower bond in connection with her alleged involvement in the brutal beating murder of Jake Kelly, a 49-year-old gay Phoenix man. The prosecutor in charge of the case being sick and Kelly’s mom not able to make an appearance via phone due to technical glitches, Christina Henderson, a commissioner of the Maricopa County Superior Court, approved a request by Young’s attorney to decrease her bond.
