Anniston, AL — In a major step toward increasing the quality of firefighter’s education and training, Anniston City Leadership, in conjunction along with Anniston Fire Department, in collaboration with Anniston Fire Department with pride announces official recognition for Anniston Regional Fire Training Center (ARTC) Anniston Regional Fire Training Center (ARTC) as an official Gadsden State Campus. The recognition is accompanied by accreditation from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools – Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) and is a major accomplishment for the local community.
This past September Gadsden State Community College with a distinguished team from SACSCOC and SACSCOC, made a crucial trip to Anniston Regional Training Center. Anniston Regional Training Center as part of Gadsden’s expansion program. The group took a thorough excursion, soaking themselves in the state-of-the-art facilities at ARTC. The itinerary featured engaging sessions including high school classes demonstrations of equipment, as well as in-depth discussions with the center’s committed instructors.
“We are extremely pleased to share the announcement of the recognition for the Anniston Regional Fire Training Center as an SACSCOC Gadsden State Campus,” said Jeff Waldrep, Chief of the Anniston Fire Department. “The SACSCOC team’s visit was an enormous success, and resulted in a highly-recommended report, with no recommendations. This is a testimony to the dedication and commitment of our spirited Anniston Fire Department staff.”
As the year is drawing to an end, Anniston City Leadership and Anniston Fire Department and Anniston Fire Department extend sincere thanks for the wonderful relationship that they have with Gadsden State Community College. The recognition to the ARTC as an SACSCOC Gadsden State Campus solidifies the dedication to fostering the highest quality of education and professional development within the region.
