Voncile Ivey Newman 96 years old died and went on to go from this world to an eternal home with her Savior and Lord Jesus Christ, on Sunday 17 December. 17 2023.
The daughter Of Hugh Ivey and Sarah Ivey, Voncile was born on the 24th of June 1927. She was raised at Repton, Alabama. She was married to Charles S. Newman of Andalusia and they became regular members at the First Baptist Church. Assisting the librarian was aspect of her work as being a member and she also cooked meals for those who were in need. Her specialty was cream cheese pound cakes and Chicken Pot Pie! Participation of the Garden Club, writing poetry and writing her life’s journey were among her passions but her love for Jesus Christ Jesus and the love she had for her family was her motivation to live her life.
Voncile was predeceased by her husband Charles as well as her son Mike. Voncile is survived by 3 daughters: Lucy Thompson (Charles), Patsy Faull (John) as well as Janet Duckett (Rob); daughter-in law, Joan Newman; grandchildren Holly Thompson Jones (Jonathan), Wes and Justen Faull; as well as grandchildren Evan, Andrew, and Anna Jones.
Funeral services will take place in the Foreman-Brown Funeral Home in Andalusia on Thursday, December. 21, at 2 p.m. and visitation beginning at 1 p.m. Eric Searcy and William Worley will be officiating. Funeral services will be held in the Andalusia Memorial Cemetery.
