According to the National Weather Service there are possible floods in the area on Friday and Saturday.
According to the report, widespread storms and showers could cause flooding in the region on Friday and Saturday. Although there is little chance of strong to severe storms occurring on Friday or Saturday, confidence in this scenario remains low. Sea fog will continue to build over the next few days due to persistent onshore flow.
Multiple rounds of heavy rain can cause flash flooding in urban and low-lying areas. This event is expected to bring in 2 to 3 inches of rainfall, although it is possible that totals could increase. This timeline shows that Friday afternoon through Saturday morning will be the most dangerous for flooding with the highest risk of flooding Friday afternoon and evening. The entire area is susceptible to flooding, but the highest risk will be found south of Highway 84.
Sea fog along the coast will slow to form Thursday night over Mobile Bay and Mississippi Sound, before spreading eastward into the Florida panhandle during the day and evening of Friday. It is likely to linger into Saturday morning. There will be a high chance of rip currents on beaches in northwest Florida. This could also affect all beaches throughout the area Thursday through Saturday. The surf heights will rapidly rise to between 4-6 feet by Friday.
A second round of storms and heavy rain is possible in the middle of next week. There is still uncertainty about the possibility of severe storms and flooding with next week’s event.
