The traffic on Hwy. 137 that runs through Carolina Carolina community was diverted on Sunday evening after a car accident caused a downed power lines.
In the words of Carolina Volunteer Fire Department, the incident occurred around 5:55 p.m. A vehicle veered off the road and struck the power pole, resulting in the destruction of power lines on Hwy. 37 and Hwy. 29. There were no injuries identified.
Carolina firefighters intervened by deploying a fire engine and the fire truck. Alongside Carolina firefighters, emergency personnel from Covington Electric, the Wing Volunteer Fire Department and Covington Electric also responded, and helped to switch poles and restore electricity. Alabama Department of Transportation also intervened on the incident. Carolina officials were on the location up to the time Covington Electric completed the repairs. Carolina units were restored to service by 10:25 p.m.
