The Opp Fire Department, Opp Police Department and Haynes Ambulance responded Monday afternoon to a car accident that resulted in injuries and an entrapment.

The accident happened near the junction of Hwy. 331 S. and Veterans Memorial Parkway.

When they arrived at the scene, EMS and fire received trauma alerts and asked two helicopters with medical capabilities to assist. EMTs and paramedics started treatment for patients while one motorist was rescued. Walton Air Rescue and Haynes Lifeflight 1 were on the scene and transported each patient to trauma hospitals. ALEA Troopers Covington County Sheriff’s Deputies, Opp Street Department, David’s Garage and Opp Exxon also volunteered.
