True to their mission of “Service To All Mankind”, Kappa Pi Omega Chapter Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. collected several bags and boxes containing more than 100 non-perishable food products and donated them to the Andalusia Boarding House, South Cotton Street.

Cerecia Buchanan, project chair, says that the service project is one of the international initiatives to Uplift The Local Community. Andalusia Boarding House provides temporary shelter for those who are homeless or have been released from prison. This is a program that offers a second chance to individuals to help them return to their community and aid with rehabilitation and reintegration. Residents receive these services at no cost.

Colonel Teresa A. Townsend of Enterprise, Retired, is the president and founder of Kappa Pi Omega Chapter. The chapter currently has approximately 140 members from Houston, Henry and Coffee counties. They engage in programs that improve the socio-economic and educational well being of their local communities.
