Albert Kennon Barton passed away at peace with his family on September. 17 2023.

Al was born the 3rd of August 1930 at Straughn, Alabama. His wife was Christine Foshee Barton on Dec. 18, 1951. they were married for 70 years.
Al was an alumni of Auburn University and an Army Veteran. In his professional career working in the field of paper Al was an early pioneer in the creation of technology that allowed coatings to the surface of a board. Al was a part of the TAPPI organization, and was chair of several committees.
Al was extremely passionate about spreading the Word of God. He was a part of the Gideon International Organization which gave him the chance to speak his testimony with a variety of people, and ensure that they were reading an Bible to study. Al also loved fishing, particularly deep sea fishing as well as big band music as well as the family farm.
The survivors include his children: Albert Kennon Barton Jr. (Janet) of Bend, Oregon, Deborah Barton Bartholomew of Cypress, Texas, and Tina Barton Eppes of Cary, Illinois. The other survivors are those of his grandkids: Trey Barton (Nikkie), Kelly Barton, Alyssa Gilmore (Josh), Colt Eppes (Madison) as well as Caroline Bartholomew; great-grandchildren, Colby Eppes, Clayton Gilmore, Dalton Eppes, Cooper Gilmore as well as Skylar Barton.
The family of the deceased wishes to express their gratitude for Enhabit Hospice as well as Right At Home, situated in Cypress, Texas, for the outstanding care and affection.
Families and friends can attend an Memorial Service on Saturday, Oct. 21, 11:11 a.m. at Buck Creek Baptist Church, 28649 Jim Foshee Rd. on the Red Level. The visitation time is 11 a.m. in the church.
