Five of the members from Andalusia Isshinryu Karate participated during The IIKA Middle Tennessee Open Karate Games in Watertown, Tennessee, on the 24th of June, on a Saturday.

Tony Williams, Sandra Strong and the Lebanon Dojo from Lebanon, Tennessee, hosted the tournament.

Johnathan Rudd won the youth grand championship in weapons and kata and took first place for brown belt kata and weapons and fighting. Jemari Marshall finished first in yellow belt-kata, and fourth in combat. Stetson Cook came in second place in yellow belt fighting, and fourth in the kata. Jamey Doulin placed second in Black belt weapons for males as well as kata and fighting.

Doulin was also an individual member in the trio-man IIKA Black Belt team that won the first prize on the black belt team combat. Mark Rudd won three first places while competing with the Masters Division for sixth degree and above weapons, kata and black belt combat for those aged 40 or older.

The AIK will then head towards Gatlinburg, Tennessee, on July 14-15 for the Isshinryu Hall of Fame Banquet and Tournament.
