The Andalusia Office Professionals Association takes great pride in serving the local community. one way to do this is to hold a raffle to fund scholarships.
Tickets cost $1 with a chance of winning $200. Tickets are available at anyone AOPA members as well as Mellisa King, at SanBuck Insurance. Tickets are on sale up to on April 9th.
“The AOPA strives to help people in our community in every way feasible. We believe that contributing to the education of others is a great opportunity to help others and allow others to reach their potential to the fullest extent. I’m not entirely sure how long the raffle fundraiser has been in our past however it’s a long-standing, with a track record of success in raising money to support scholarships.” AOPA President Camaro King stated.
Adults who are employed full-time in a field that is business-related and who are seeking to further their education in a field of professional study are qualified. Scholarship applications may be obtained by emailing wanda.woods@powersouth.com. The scholarship will be awarded to winners at the July meeting.
One winner of the raffle will be chosen through an drawing at that Thursday’s April 4, meeting and will be announced via the AOPA Facebook page. The rest of the proceeds are deposited directly into the scholarship fund.
“Our participants are main contributors in our organization’s success. Everyone contributes to make sure that we sell at minimum 50 tickets. A lot people from our group go above by selling more than 50 tickets. Mellisa has recently posted a post on Facebook about ticket sales . She has had great success accepting payments via Venmo or PayPal.”
King expressed his appreciation for the chance to assist in the cause. He also stated that they aim to sell at minimum 2800 tickets.
“As an earlier beneficiary of the AOPA scholarship, it’s an honor to give it back. Returning to school after working full-time is an extremely difficult job. Being able to assist an adult who is who is in the same position is very satisfying. If we achieve what we want to achieve, then it will enable us to give more to the recipients of our scholarships.”
The Andalusia Office Professionals Association has its monthly gatherings beginning at 12:00 on the Thursday each month in Tabby D’s.
