Betty “Beebe” Merrill Phillips went peacefully to meet her Lord, Jesus Christ, on February. 23rd, 2023.

Beebe was born September. 11 1942 in the home of Fan and Taylor Merrill of Andalusia, Alabama. Beebe was the focus of her dad’s eyes. Beebe was well-known and loved throughout her schooling in Andalusia and went to Huntingdon College after high school. She married her spouse, Charles (Chick) Ray Phillips at Huntingdon. Chick was the one who preceded Beebe in death in 2010. Beebe leaves her daughter Merrile (John) Stroud, son Taylor Phillips and granddaughters, Anna Stroud, Sally Stroud, Tay Tay (Carter) Helm as well as Beebe (Ender) Doe.

Beebe was well-known for her beauty, both inside and out. She was The Peanut Festival Queen and received other awards for beauty in college and in high school. She was entertaining often and everybody left her home feeling happy and well-known. She was a fan of tennis and bridge and reading, as well as watching films as well as Broadway shows. She passed on these passions to her grandchildren and children. She was a long-time participant in First Methodist Church, where she worked with The Respite Ministry and was a Bible Study Fellowship leader for several years. Beebe sparkled in every space she entered. She was known for her an infectious laugh and playful eyes. Beebe will be greatly missed.
