Andalusia didn’t blink when it came to the two high school basketball rivalries wins against Straughn in Straughn on the 12th of December. 12

Andalusia took a break from a tight match in the second half and ended the streak of winning by seven games in the varsity girls game.
Ora Hall provided Ora Hall the Lady Tigers a quick 2-0 advantage before Jaidyn Berry scored an open layup to tie the score at 22-2. It was 2-2 for the Lady Bulldogs scored five of the next six points, and were in front by four points thanks to Kionni Wright in the stretch. Maddie Williamson scored a basket in the midst of the game. Blakeley Smith made two more free throws to tie 9-9. Berry made a powerful shot to the hoop, giving her an 11-10 advantage after just one.
Wright scored a shot as Kelsie Horwath threw down an easy layup that led the hosts to 15-10 within the opening minutes in the 2nd. Hall reduced the deficit to 15-13 by hitting a lengthy three just at 6:02. After another three-pointer by Hall which cut the gap to 19-18. Taya Newton scored one of two in the final ten seconds. M. Williamson evened the score at 20-20, however Straughn could not score in the remaining half. Andalusia scored scores from Cape Merrell, Berry, and Wright and was able to take an advantage of 26-20 at halftime.
Khariya Reynolds Wright And Kamari Gay all made their first bucket of the 3rd period as the lead increased to 32-20. In the fourth, however, the Lady Tigers refused to back down and fought back to finish at 34-29. Hall scored seven points in the upswing, while Allyx Williamson was also able to find the hoop to score two. Gay and Merrell finished the frame with back-to-back field goal and provided The Lady Bulldogs a 38-29 lead after three.
Merrell and Gay started the final half with a volley to give the team an advantage of 42-29. A. Williamson scored five points in the fourth period, however, Andalusia ended up avenging an earlier loss to Straughn with a 14-point performance within the final eight minutes. Berry as well as Merrell each scored just four points throughout the 4th.
Wright led Andalusia (2-3) by scoring 16 points, and Berry added 10. Merrell scored eight points in the win. He was then followed by Gay with seven points and Reynolds with six points.
Hall was the highest scoring player at Straughn (7-3) who scored 19 of the team’s points. A. Williamson had seven points, while M. Williamson garnered four.

Andalusia had a great beginning on offense as well as defense, and finished the sweep by winning 66-31 in the varsity boys’ game.
Tyler Sigers and Tevin Sigers both scored three points, as Laeton Smith Hudson Kelley, and Jaquez McMeans all found the net, and gave the Bulldogs an advantage of 12-1. Kaden Wiggins sank an open shot which gave the Tigers in the lead just 1:13 into the opening. Jordan Stallworth followed with a three, putting an end to the game at 15-1 in the final one.
Tevin Sigers kicked off the second half with three points. McMeans added four points. Tyler Sigers scored two as Andalusia increased the lead up to 24-1. Wiggins followed with a powerful effort to get to the hoop. Tevin Sigers scored two more three-pointers just before the break. Parker Black and Clark Jordan each had a shot in the final stretch, while free throws made by Layne Grantham and Wiggins took the score at halftime to 32-9.
Jordan scored six points more in the 3rd quarter, and Wiggins scored four of four at the line. Joseph Driver buried a three towards the end of the third quarter for Straughn. Tyler Sigers notched six points during the game as well, and Tevin Sigers tallied his fifth three-pointer of the game. Stallworth, Kelley, McMeans as well as Xavier Hourel all chipped in two points each as Andalusia kept a 49-23 advantage after three.
Driver and Jordan opened the final frame through back-toback scoring. The trio of three-pointers by Noah Curry, the Bulldogs destroyed the net five times from downtown throughout the contest. Clark Gay made a bucket and also added two free shots to the Tigers.
Tevin Sigers was the top scorer having scored 15 in the win for Andalusia (4-1) And Tyler Sigers also contributed a double-digit performance at 11. Curry was averaging nine points during the victory, while Stallworth and McMeans each had eight points.
Jordan was the leading scorer at Straughn (3-5) having scored 10 points. Wiggins followed with eight points and Driver scored five points in the loss.
