The Covington Arts Council will present stand-up comedy on social media by comedian Heather Land at the LBW Martha and Solon Dixon Center for the Performing Arts on Saturday, October. 21 starting at 7 p.m.
The CAC is eager to bring the entertainment back to Andalusia as it has not been seen since the pre-pandemic days.
“With Heather’s busy schedule, we’re pleased to bring Heather to our guests. This is the perfect opportunity for a ladies night out. She takes the everyday routine and transforms it into a humorous comedy routine that is relatable to women, but still enjoyable for all ages,” added CAC President Paula Harr.
Heather has written “I I Ain’t Doin’ it Unfiltered Thoughts from an sarcastic Southern sweetheart.” She was planning to be a singer, but following a divorce, she switched to a well-known Snapchat filter as a way to prove her worth. When she posted it to the social networks, she was seen more than 300 million times.
“She is a speaker on nearly everything – the inconceivable, unbelievable and downright frustrating and the reason she’s not doing the right thing.’ Heather reminds us that in moments of life it’s all about perception. A well-known comedian on social media Her following has over 107 million active followers and fans who are a crowd-pleaser at her stand-up performances across the nation, and who have also fallen attracted to her debut book, “I Ain’t Doin it. Heather humorously urges her audience to be more relaxed and focus on what’s essential in your life,” a release stated.
The CAC was last to stage a comedy performance prior to the pandemic. Leanne Morgan visited Andalusia to perform.
