Carter Joins Star-News as a multimedia marketing specialist

The Andalusia Star-News would like warmly welcome Jakelyn Carter to its team as an expert in multimedia marketing.

Carter is from Andalusia and is a 2011 alumna from Andalusia High School. She received her bachelor’s degree at Troy University in Communications with an emphasis on Public Relations. She will graduate in the year 2020.

“I am excited to embark on this exciting journey and extremely excited about putting my diploma in communication to work. I’m looking forward to helping my local business expand by offering marketing strategies and solutions for advertising. My objectives while being employed by the Andalusia Star-News are to expand my understanding and abilities in marketing , and broadening my experience in the field of marketing as well as journalism.” Carter said.

Carter’s debut day at the Star-News began on Monday, 20 March. Carter has two infant boys, eight-year-old Major and 2 year-old Mazi. Major is a student in second grade at Straughn Elementary School.

“We are thrilled to welcome Jakelyn as a part of our Star-News staff,” said Publisher Robert Blankenship. “As an Andalusia native she’s well-versed in the values of our community as well as businesses. Her education and background can be a great benefit to our advertising customers in helping them discover the many options that are available via online marketing. I’m confident I am sure Jakelyn will do a fantastic job and that local businesses’ first choice for all their marketing requirements, whether these are digital printed, on the phone or both.”

The advertising director Ruck Ashworth is delighted over Carter becoming part of as a member of the ASN team. “We are delighted to warmly welcome Jakelyn as a new member of the Star-News and are looking at working together, as and the contributions she can make for our staff, the community as well as to our readers.”
