Dudley Cephus Maddox, 76 of The Red Oak community, passed in peace at the William F. Green State Veterans Home on Palm Sunday 2 April 2023.

The visitation will take place on Thursday, April 5 from 6-8 p.m. from 6 to 8 p.m. at Evans Funeral Home in Florala. Funeral services will take place on Thursday April 6, on the 6th of April at Red Oak Baptist Church, with a visitation beginning from 2 p.m. and the funeral service beginning at 3 p.m. The burial will be with burial at Red Oak Baptist Church cemetery.
Maddox, Mr. Maddox is predeceased by parents J. C. as well as Evelyn “Dixie” Maddox; his brother and sister-in-law, Willene and Tobe Kelley as well as his brother-in law, Charles Rogers; niece, Charlotte Rogers; and grandson, Cody Maddox.
The late Mr. Maddox is survived by his wife of 56 years, Quennie Redmon Maddox of the Red Oak community; sons and daughters-in-law Stacey (Mary) and Mary of Panama City, Florida; Kevin (Christine) of Dothan; Jason (Cristina) of Pensacola And Jonathan (Hallie) who lives in Stapleton, Alabama; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. sister, Tom Maddox (Alice) brother, Annette Rogers, and many cousins.
Maddox, Mr. Maddox served his country with aplomb with his time in the United States Air Force and USAF Reserve for 26 years and is a Vietnam veteran. He retired from the civil service after 32 years of faithful service. Dudley was a member of the Red Oak Baptist Church, which he was deacon and music director for several years. After his retirement, he was an active member of the Red Oak Volunteer Fire Dept. In that capacity, he was chief for more than nine years.
Dudley was a lover of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and enjoyed worshipping Him with music. He loved fishing with his sons and camping, as well as gardening and feeding birds, but particularly having time spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A very special thank you to the staff at William F. Green State Veterans Home and Community Hospice of Baldwin County for their loving and caring care and support, particularly in the final days of Dudley’s life.
