Mrs. Eva Rae Norris, age 103, died and went home for her Lord and Savior, on the 4th of January the 4th of January. 4th, 2024 at 11:30 a.m.
Born on September. 18 in 1920 with her parents Willie Johnson and Lillie Johnson. She got married Obie Norris on March 1937. They lived for 51 years of marriage. They started a family of four sons: Jerald, Chester Ray, John and Vernon as well as two girls Betty Jean and Eva Nell. She was a long-time resident of the Enon community, and was a faithful church member at Enon Baptist Church. She was a lover of flowers and spent time in the garden and tending her garden of flowers She loved making and carefully stitching quilts to give to her family and friends. Mrs. Eva Rae was a professional who took pride in taking care and caring for her family. She loved her church and the Lord. Through 103 years of her life she was a wonderful sister and daughter as well as a faithful wife, a fantastic mom, a remarkable grandmother as well as a great friend and a faithful Christian that will surely be greatly missed by those who were close to her.
Funeral service for Mrs. Norris will be on Saturday, January. 6, at 2 p.m. in the Enon Baptist Church with Rev. Charlie Leonard and Donnie Powell officiating. Foreman Funeral Home directing. The viewing will take place between 12:30 and two p.m. in the church.
Her parents preceded her in death, Willie L. and Lillie Johnson and her husband, Obie Norris her daughter Eva Nell Powell, her grandchild, Johnny Powell, her brothers-in-law, Harold Powell and Johnny Harrelson Five brothers, Benson Johnson, Julian Johnson, Buddy Johnson, William Johnson and Little Buddy Johnson with five siblings: Vera Rachel, Catherine Stanley, Nona Roberts, Velma Atkins as well as Elizabeth Simmons.
She was survived by five children: Betty Harrelson, Jerald (Shirley) Norris, Chester Ray (Ellen) Norris, John Norris, Vernon Norris as well as a sister Louise Harrell; her grandchildren, Keith (Jane) Norris, Flint (Christine) Harrelson, Jennifer Pope, Sherry Buck, Eugene (Leigh) Powell, Tammy (Terry) Weeks, Teresa (David) Morris, Kathy (Kenny) Teel, Cal (Lisa) Norris, Donny Powell, Greg (Melanie) Norris and Chris Norris with 27 great-grandchildren; 42 great-great grandchildren, and a host of cousins.
Flint as well as Christine Harrelson will provide music. The pallbearers include Keith Norris, Cal Norris, Eugene Powell, Donny Powell, Greg Norris, and Chris Norris.
Family members will be accepting gifts.
