You can go to the nearest airport, public facility or military facility and you’ll be subjected to security screening prior to entering. This is the reality of the current world. Our country is being forced to increase these steps to safeguard our country.
One one of the first things police or guards do upon entering the building is to inspect your possessions. Anything you carry like a purse, briefcase laptop computer, camera and, nowadays, even your shoes are placed onto a conveyor belt which is pushed via an X-ray device.
Security personnel can inspect the contents and identify suspicious objects that could serve to make weapons. At certain checkpoints authorities might decide to look over any object and empty the contents.
Every person is instructed to pass through an iron detector. It resembles an archway that is rectangular with sensors that beep to alert guards looking for weapons or knives.
At these security checkpoints one can deposit keys, coins watches, money clips or anything else that may cause alarms to go off in a bowl made of plastic. When one has passed by the detector made of metal, guards will return your items and you’re free to proceed to where you want to go.
If something you carry in your pocket or on your body triggers the alarm the alarm will be triggered. You are instructed to take a step back and put your arms straight. A metal detector shaped like a wand is placed around your body in order to discover the reason behind it. Security measures include now picking people randomly to conduct a second search.
Nobody or nothing who is able to cause harm should escape the inspection. It’s not a hassle for me to wait in line, or allow an TSA officer examine my the contents of my personal belongings. It makes me feel more secure knowing that every person, no matter their age or status in life, is subject to the same process to ensure the safety of everyone.
There’s a spiritual message from this story that can be applied to live this Christian life. Our human nature fights against the holy life we ought to live. It is impossible to live a godly life without God’s help, therefore we need to solicit Him for assistance.
“Search me”, O God and find my heart. Test me, and study my thoughts. See if there’s any sinful way that I am able to walk. Let me be guided by the path of eternal life” (Psalm 13:23-24).
God knows who that we are inside. God knows us better than we do. The Bible says in 1 Samuel 16:7, we are told that God does not see what we perceives, since man focuses at his appearance from the outside while God examines the inside!
Inquiring God to examine for our heart is the initial step. The next step is to allow Him to speak to our hearts, that part of us who no one else is able to see. We must then be attentive and listen to what He is saying in His words and through His presence and follow through with the same.
Keep in mind that Hebrews chapter four states that there is no creature that is out of His eyes, and everything is open before His eyes who requires us to provide an account.
