The MYF youth group from the First Methodist Church of Andalusia is set to kick off the school year 2023-2024 by hosting the “Youth Rally Day” event open to all area group of youth or youth on Saturday 19 August.
The event is open to students from 7th to 12th grades as well as postgraduates.
“We are thankful for the opportunity to hold this type of event, as we love it when we can bring kids from all over the world to worship, praise, and give back in Jesus Christ’s name. We hope that every one of our students will have is the realizing that we’re better when we are all together. Whatever church or denomination we’re a part of We are all one of Christ Jesus. The event is open to all and youth groups, meaning there’s a spot in the dining room for all.” FMC Youth Leader Heather Sabey declared.
Check-in time is 11 a.m. with a lunch prepared and served from First Methodist Church. Local local mission projects in the area will be followed in The Christian Service Center, Meredith’s Miracles, Blue Lake, and the Full Tummy Project of Covington County. The students will then return to FMC for a time of fellowship with games and a meal after the project’s time. The program will conclude with worship, praise and a speech by the guest speaker pastor Joe Driver of Echo Life Church in Pensacola at 5 p.m.
“Our primary today’s verse is Micah 6:8. “He has shown you the things that is right and what is the Lord expect from you? To seek justice, be a lover of mercy, and live in humility with your God. My most profound personal wish for this event apart from the opportunity for the children to have a great time as a group of believers and to encourage each one of them to hold within their hearts this passage and carry it into throughout their lives.” she concluded.
Registration forms can be found through the page of First Methodist Church Andalusia’s Facebook page. Anyone and groups that sign up before August 1 will be given a free t-shirt from the event.
