Funeral services took place on Tuesday 29 August at 10 a.m. The service was held at the Foreman Funeral Home Chapel with Gary Glass, Bo Brogden as well as Robert Rolling speaking. The funeral was held at Good Hope Cemetery. The visitation began on Sunday, August 28 at 5:45 p.m. The funeral was held at Foreman Funeral Home.
The couple is survived by their wife Barbara Gunter; three sons, Russell (Michelle) Gunter of Shalimar, Florida, Joey (Ashley) Gunter of Andalusia and Shaun Foy of Georgiana, Alabama; four daughters, Leigh Gunter of Orange Beach, Florida, Laken Gunter of Andalusia, Brandi Waites of Elmore County, Alabama, and Sierra (Patrick) Davis of Greenville, Alabama; 24 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by parents Howard Gunter and Sara Odom Gunter and sister, Ann Owens; and brother, Grover Gunter.
Pallbearers included Chad Cottle, Josh Gunter, Glen Gunter, Troy Owens, Larry Brogden, and Robbie Brogden.
The honorary pall bearer for the day was Brayden Gunter.
