A crash involving two vehicles on early on Tuesday day morning, in Covington County has claimed the lives of two people.

Lesa Moore King, 62 of Georgiana as well as Shannon Lynn Howard, 54 of Brewton were both declared to be dead on the spot of the collision.

As per the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, the two-vehicle collision occurred on Tuesday, February. 7 at around 10:14 a.m. close to the 40-mile marker on Alabama Hwy. 55, which is about 15 miles to the south of Georgiana within Covington County. The crash led to the northbound roadways of Alabama Hwy. 55 being shut down for some time. The lanes were said to be opened again at around 1.30 p.m. on Tuesday.

State Troopers have reported that the 1999 Chevrolet Tahoe driven by King crossed the center line and came into directly with Howard’s 2018 Audi A6.

King was not wearing an airbag during the moment of the accident.

ALEA has stated that no more information is available since troopers continue to look into.
