Serving the local community for more than 31 year, Dee Jacobs has announced her retirement as vice president/financial advisor for CCB Financial Services, Inc. in Andalusia.

Dee Jacobs

Jacobs was hired by CCB as the loan teller, and later executive assistant between 1985 until 1988. Jacobs returned in CCB at the end of 1995, as a loan officer, and was promoted to vice-president in the year 1996. She has been in her current position as vice president/financial advisor from 2002. Her retirement date is on Friday, December. 29.

“I have been working in banking since the latter part of the 1970s. My first position was at Florida National Bank in Pensacola in the bookkeeping department. I was employed at different banks throughout the years, until I landed at CCB. What I love most about my work is the most important thing: working with my CCB family. We are truly an extended family who care for one another. I’ve had a blast working with my customers to help them meet their financial requirements. A lot of my clients haven’t just become friends, but have become family members, and I will be truly disappointed to not have them as clients,” Jacobs said.

While working for SouthTrust at the time, in 1995 Jacobs got a message asking her if she was interested in speaking with the CEO Tom Lane about a job.

“I decided to meet with him and he then offered me a loan officer job at CCB. I didn’t inform him that at the time however I was eager to go back to CCB. I joined in April of 1995, and I remember there was no room for me back then. I was seated at the credenza next to Marie Spann Reynolds for a week, then moved to an office until they could find an office space for me. As Shirley Helms retired, I moved into her office. I’ve seen many changes and improvements over the last 27 years.”

Lane came to Jacobs about establishing an investment division at CCB in 2002.

“Since I have my license to live and was a sales enthusiast He believed I’d be a perfect candidate for the job. I was extremely nervous initially but then decided to give it a shot realizing that it was an opportunity to make a difference in my lifetime. After months of arranging studying, preparing, and obtaining an exam for the Series 7 and 63 securities license, we were officially open to business. The division has grown from 0 to $90 million of assets under control. I thank every customer who made us successful and trusted me with their investment portfolios,” she said.

She expressed gratitude to all who assisted her to reach this point.

“I want to thank Tom Lane for believing in my abilities and allowing me to have the chance to develop with CCB. I also want to express my gratitude to Michael Andrews, Southern National Board and the CCB Community Bank Board of Directors for their assistance to us and our department. I am very excited about Mark Chambers who obtained his securities license and has been employed in the department for this past year. I believe he’ll succeed and wish him the best.”

Jacobs was a student at LBW Community College, Auburn University at Montgomery Jacobs attended Auburn University at Montgomery at the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Colorado in Boulder. She is a holder of the Series 7, and 66 securities licenses in addition to an annual license.

Jacobs stated that retirement will be quite a change, but is looking forward to her time free. Jacobs is married Ron Jacobs.

“I have worked for most of my life, however my husband and I are planning to travel to play golf, travel as well as work on projects at home and spend more spending time with the three kids and 2 grandchildren.”

Chambers started with CCB Community Bank in 2010 after receiving his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration/Marketing from Auburn University. Mark Chambers

“Prior to my move in CCB Financial Services, I worked as a loan officer for the last eight years. I was chairman of the Andalusia Chamber of Commerce in the area in 2021. I am also currently the President of the Andalusia Rotary Club. I am looking forward to providing the same quality that we provide to current customers as well as to our prospective clients over the coming years,” Chambers said.

CCB Community Bank CEO Michael Andrews described Jacobs as Jacobs was a “mainstay” for more than 30 years.

“Dee has been instrumental in the beginning of Financial Services at CCB and has been an integral component of the development we have witnessed throughout her time at CCB. We’re sorry to see her go, but we are ecstatic for her personal life. Mark is an ongoing CCB employee and will be stepping into big shoes. We transferred him to our office around two years ago and allowed him to work closely with Dee. Dee has been working to transition over the last couple of months. I believe that he’s ready for the job and should have the necessary training to carry on the work she’s accomplished and take us farther into the future.” Andrews said.
