James Gordon “Jimmy” Hutto returned home to be with our Lord on February. 11th, 2023. He was with his family and friends, including his wife and sons.

Jimmy was was raised at Andalusia through his parents Margaret as well as Perry Hutto and his grandparents, Trudy as well as Irvin Alford. He was an elated high school graduate from Andalusia high school’s class in 1965. the most popular class of his time. He was chased, met, and got married to the most beautiful woman of his lifeHelen Wiggins Huttoin 1969, and has never regretted it. Jimmy worked at five jobs throughout his lifetime as a record store clerk where he would wear out all Beach Boys vinyl in stock and front desk clerk of the Andalusia Key Motel, where the manager was able to spy at every politician’s private life as well as a high school teacher which he later compared himself to the main character from “Welcome Back Kotter,” college administrator, where he promoted the importance of education for all people and lastly his very favorite job as his father to Jason Hutto and Wesley Hutto, where he was a fan of playing catch every single trip to the beach and warming the stands at every baseball, basketball, and soccer game, sharing stories and writing jokes for them and watching films with and putting them to bed by the Three Dog Night’s “Joy for the World.” He was the proudest of his final role and we could not better appreciate him for it.

There will be an event to celebrate life in the months ahead. Instead for flowers, make an offering for the Neighborhood Christian Center in Decatur, Alabama.
