Opp scored six runs in the first inning and won 13-3 against Zion Chapel in an event at Andalusia which saw Bradleigh Lanier who hit for the cycle on Saturday 15 April.

The Lady Bobcats, ranked third in the class of 3A The Lady Bobcats have improved to 22-9 over the year. However, the Lady Rebels dropped to 11-10 overall.

Riley Bannin walked with two outs in the opening inning, however, Addison Moseley kept ZCHS off the scoreboard. Amaya Womack was struck by an errant pitch, before Allie Wismer walked in the bottom of the. Bannin followed by striking out the two batters who followed and OHS put together a massive two-out rally. Moseley made an unlucky error, and Womack was able to score, and Wismer scored. Haylei Henagan then followed with an RBI single that added Taylor Adams. Rylie Thrash walked, setting the stage for a three-run homer from Lanier to give the team a 6-0 advantage after just one innings.

Moseley permitted a leadoff hit in the 2nd, but was able to get two strikeouts. Wismer opened the bottom of the frame with a single. She hit the plate after an RBI double by Reese Cauley. After Cauley was able to take third due to a passed ball, Moseley helped herself with an RBI groundout that increased an 8-0 lead. In the third, the Lady Rebels loaded the bases by allowing two walks and one single at the top of the third, before Moseley hit another zero with the flyout. Lanier followed with an RBI triple, scoring thanks to a groundout hit by Jaidyn Ivey. Lanier scored on a groundout by Jaidyn Ivey. Lady Bobcats maintained their 9-0 lead after three innings.

Zion Chapel got on the scoring in the fourth inning with an RBI. Madison Meeks had a one-out double, and she made it 9-1 when she scored an error. Moseley hit a single in the bottom of the fourth however Opp did not capitalize and the game went into the 5th. Kaylee Hodge along with Bannin made a run on consecutive miscues after which Amber Kidd singled in Hodge. Meeks left with the bases stuffed. Bannin scored, bringing ZCHS close to six, at 9-3. OHS took the lead by scoring two 2-out runs. Taylor Adams laced an RBI double and scored Thrash. Cauley was able to bring home Lanier who was attempting the single to take an 11-3 advantage after five.

Lanier played a 1-2-3 in the at the top of the sixth, and took down his Lady Rebels on 10 pitches. In the sixth, the Lady Bobcats strung together another two-out rally before calling the game at a young stage. Moseley was a solo hitter before Lanier doubled, and finished the cycle. Ivey was able to cash in Moseley by hitting an RBI single and Womack did the same as Lanier scored the winning run.

Lanier completed her day 4-for-4, with three RBIs and scored four runs in her historical day. Cauley, Ivey, Moseley and Henegan all had two hits. Moseley was the winner who pitched three innings with two hits no-run baseball and was able to strike out three. Lanier only allowed one earned run over four hits, and was able to strike out two batters over three complete innings.

Opp concludes its regular season schedule with a visit for Pike County on Tuesday, April 18 and then hosts Enterprise on Thursday on April 20. Both games are scheduled to begin at 4:45 p.m.
