The Alabama Community College Conference recently announced the March 2023 Honor Roll of the Commissioner’s Academic Honour Roll that includes 50 LBW Saints included on the list.
Student-athletes earned the distinction when they earned the 3.0 GPA or better.
“LBW’s primary goal is and always will be to give students the necessary resources to excel in their sport, but more importantly at school. Making the Commissioner’s List speaks volumes about the dedication that each athlete puts in to their sport and education We are ecstatic to have so numerous athletes listed in the lists. We are looking forward to their ongoing achievement in the classroom.” LBWCC President Dr. Brock Kelley said.
Baseball was the sport that had the highest number of players on the list, with 20 Saints who were honored as a result of the ACCC. The student-athletes honored include Shelton Arroyo, Lane Ballard, Cade Brooks, Gabe Bryant, Brent Cadenhead, Abe Chancellor, Lane Cook, Mason Dubose, Sage Givens, TJ Grines, Kyle Handy, Austin Johnston, Dalton Kuhn, Nick Lawrence, Tripp McKinley, Jackson Pierce, Walt Spurlin, Holt Steed, Jackson Steinmetz along with Jake Wilson.
Softball came next with 13 people included on the list. The 13 include Abbey Glidewell, Lauren Hudson, Anna Hull, Courtney Lunsford, Faith Myers, Kendall Perry, Hannah Phillips, Ellan Schumacher, Riley Sweeney, Emily Taylor, Madelyn Watson, Cassie Willis, and McKynlee Young.
The Saints volleyball team was represented by 10 players. They include Amy Garner, Zationna Horne, Samia Mason, Ashton McCullar, Brianna McLaughlin, Faith Peters, Adriane Pico, Maddie Rasmussen, Jaden Williams and Brianna Wilson.
LBW has seven basketball players included on the list, including four women’s players and three from teams for the males. The women included Joye Anderson Jakyla Diawara Olivia McLaughlin as well as Nia Similien. The males included Malik Beauford, Ivan Lawson along with Jonathan Steward.
“These athletes and teams must be very satisfied with themselves because they’ve juggled academics, practice and games. I am happy for them, as are the staff and faculty at our wonderful colleges for the efforts they put into training our athletes for the world beyond athletics,” said ACCC Commissioner Dean Myrick.
