LBW Community College will begin the series of lectures aimed at giving parents and guardians the information needed to help modern parenting starting on the 7th of March on a Tuesday.

“LBW is determined to be more than a conventional community college, but rather a genuine resource center. We at the College Diversity Committee would like to invite you to join Community Candid. The five-part series of lectures will concentrate on the facts you should know about psychological health and peer pressure and the use of technology and social media. awareness of drugs and prevention and financial planning and well-being, and diversity and inclusion,” LBW Associate Dean of Institutional Effectiveness and Quality Dr. Kristina Griffin said.

Dynamic speakers such as Whitney Queen, Walt Merrell Dr. Emma Cosby, Noah Galloway and Ebony Bradley will be speaking.

Each lecture series will be held by the LBW Andalusia campus, beginning around six p.m. at the Martha and Solon Dixon Center for Performing Arts. The sessions are all free and are open for the general public. Childcare is available for participants, however registration is necessary. A low-cost food option will be available at Saints Cafe.

  • March 14 13 – March 14 – Health as well as Peer Stress in the presence of Dr. Emma Cosby
  • March 21 March 21 Drug Awareness and Prevention with Walt Merrell
  • April 4, Diversity and Inclusion with Sergeant. Noah Galloway
  • April 18 19 Technology and Social Media with Ebony Bradley

The intention is for the attendees be educated of their surroundings, prepared as well as aware of services the community has to offer for support. The goal of Community Candid is that it will bridge gaps between the traditional approach to child raising practices and the ever-changing environment we live in today.
