Holmes is currently the Dist. 3 commissioner. She is running as a candidate on her Republican ticket. She is the spouse of the former commissioner Tony Holmes. They were married for 49 years before his passing in February, earlier this year.
Mrs. Holmes was appointed by the office of the governor to serve in his office following the demise of her husband.
“It was an honor to serve on this commission and serve the citizens in this County,” Holmes said.
Holmes was born in Andalusia and was a student at Andalusia High School and Lurleen B. Wallace Community College. Her parents were late Jim Warren and Bertie (Wise) Warren. She had one brother older than her who died, John Warren (Kathy Harrelson).
Holmes is the mother of four kids: Brett Holmes, Brandy Hudson (Paul), Amanda Inabinett (Chris), Ashley Morgan (Justin) and five grandchildren.
Holmes was employed in Andalusia city schools for sixteen years. Holmes became part of the pecan industry of her family in the year 2000.
“Our business has been growing steadily through the hard work of our employees and our management. We have opened our newly renovated Holmes Pecan new store in 2022,” she said.
Holmes believes there are a lot of issues that the county will have to deal with over the next four years.
“These choices will affect the general public for a long time. The county must be run as a business and debts must be paid. We can’t spend more than what we already can afford. The money is the responsibility of those who pay taxes in Covington County, and should be utilized to benefit the residents. I am humbly asking that you pray, votes and your the support of the 5th of March 2024. Together we can change the world,” Holmes said.
