Tommy McGaha recently announced that he will be seeking re-election for the Dist. 4 seat on Covington County Commission. Covington County Commission.

It is member in Buck Creek. Buck Creek community and a 1982 student at Straughn High School.
“I consider it an incredible honour to have been chosen by the people from Covington County as your District 4 county commissioner. I’ve really enjoyed the experience. I have maintained an open-door policy for citizens of District 4 as well as Covington County who would like to have to be heard in local issues, personal problems or any other issue by returning calls, responding to texts or emails, as well as visiting in person upon request,” McGaha said.
An U.S. Marine Corps veteran from 1984 through 1988, McGaha is employed by Triple H Specialty of Alabama since 2009. His wife is Vicki Taylor McGaha from Red Level. They have three children and five grandchildren. They also belong to the Buck Creek Baptist Church.
McGaha is an active membership of NRA and currently serves as the treasurer of the Covington County Republican Party.
“As as a commission we have maintained the balance of our budget, trimmed our long-term debt, and have been able to grant the employees of Covington County much-needed cost of living increases each year. We have been working closely with the towns, cities and local communities as we are obligated to ourselves, and the people of Covington County to collaborate with regard to issues that affect every person. We have embraced the opportunities to come up with common ground on which we can build our relationships with them, and build upon the benefits of our county, and continue to improve our living standards for everyone in Covington County.” the governor said.
McGaha is a member of the dual-board in the Rural Workforce Council (RWC) and Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) through Southeast Alabama Works. He is also an Association of County Commissions of Alabama (ACCA) Legislative Committee member as well as a part of the Wiregrass Resource Conservation and Development (WRC&D) Council.
He is unopposed on March 5, 2024 primary election.
