After a thorough search, the Mizell Memorial Hospital Board of Directors announced Mitchell Myers as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Mizell Memorial Hospital.

“I feel extremely blessed and grateful to have been given this opportunity, and I look forward to the success of Mizell.” Myers stated that the healthcare industry faces many challenges. He hoped Mizell’s team would overcome these obstacles and create a strong, viable future for their organization.

He is a native of Covington County and has held important leadership positions at Mizell over the years. Myers is passionately involved in rural healthcare and providing stable access for those who are most vulnerable.

Myers, a 2008 Straughn High School alumnus is a University of Alabama graduate where he earned his bachelor’s degree and minor in biology. He also holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in nursing from the University of South Alabama. He will be helping to move Mizell Memorial Hospital forward.

His track record of success in healthcare leadership has been impressive. He is known for his outstanding results in employee satisfaction and employee recruitment.

Alliant Management Services, a Mizell Memorial Hospital management partnership, conducted a thorough recruitment process for the position of CEO. The search was directed by Alliant Management President/CEO Michael Kozar, who reviewed many candidates. The Mizell Memorial Hospital Board of Directors evaluated the final candidates and decided that Myers was the best person to lead the hospital into the future. Myers will be working with the Alliant Leadership team in setting strategic and operational goals for the hospital. Then, Myers will establish benchmarks to achieve those goals. The Mizell Board of Directors will continue to receive monthly reporting. They will also continue to approve and review all hospital plans, budgets, and progress.

His transition to his new position as CEO at Mizell Memorial Hospital will be completed immediately. Myers has been married for 10 years to Heather and they have two children, Lora-Leigh (and Zeke).
