OPD investigate death of Opp man killed in work accident

An Opp man was killed in an accident at work Wednesday morning. The Opp Police Department is now investigating.

The identity of the male 45-year-old has not been revealed.

Opp Police Chief Kevin Chance stated that officers arrived at Neal Tindol Tire, Saunders Road, around 8:35 AM. Officers arrived on the scene and found the victim dead in the shop area.

Initial police calls referred to the incident in the initial report as a tractor tire blast. Officials stated that the tire explosion caused the victim’s death.

Haynes Ambulance Service and the Opp Fire Department also responded to the call.
