For the majority of people holiday season is an occasion to celebrate. However, for seniors who are low-income and people with disabilities, the holiday season is not a respite from the cost of daily living expenses.
For a lot of people Christmas are often the most lonely moment in the entire year. It is the Santa for Seniors community project will bring joy to the holidays and gifts for those Wiregrass senior citizens and people disabled who require basic necessities for daily living.
Santa for Seniors’ requests for sponsorship are now live at the SARCOA website. This is a chance for Wiregrass residents to join the Wiregrass community to join in helping the who are less fortunate during the holiday season. Requests for sponsorship will be posted by county and accompanied by an explanation of the person and their wish lists. The good news can be shared in different ways as well. The the SARCOA’s Amazon wish list is available through the website. The list has the most frequently requested items at Christmas, and all through the year. Donations can be made via the internet or mailed to us and dropped off by hand at SARCOA.
SARCOA is also looking for Santa volunteers to help out. As of 2022 SARCOA employees and volunteers provided food to over 500 people for the Christmas season.
