Shirley Ann Kinney, 77 from Houston, Texas, passed peacefully in her sleep on September. 23rd 2023. Kinney was surrounded by her family and friends on the day she left for her final journey.

They were preceded by their parents Mary Clyde Findley and Hicks B. Findley, as well as her sister Mae White. She is survived by her loving wife of more than 56 years Ronald Kinney, brothers, Robert, Paul and Rothel Findley, as well as her sister, Mary Elizabeth Bryant. Shirley has three kids Rhonda (Greg) Reeves, Charlotte Kinney, and Tyler (Jen) Kinney as well as her loving grandchildren Julia, Sasha, Ally, Kyle and Cody Reeves and Devon and Zane Arzola and Logan and Emma Kinney.
Shirley is a native of Red Level, Alabama, and then moved into Houston, Texas, with her sisters at the age of 18 years old. She soon found work at Texas Instruments and shortly later was introduced to one of the most important people in her life Ronald F. Kinney in Houston. Ronald and Shirley got married on April 29 1967, began their own family and established an existence with their family in Katy, Texas. Shirley spent the majority of her time as a mother and housewife however she had a variety of careers throughout her life. She spent a lot of her career in the field of design as well as the acquisition of antiques. In this profession she travelled to various foreign countries and bought antiques. Later on she returned to Houston and were members of the Bethel Independent Presbyterian Church and met many people and enjoyed fellowship time.
Family visits will be held on Saturday, October. 7 between 10 and 11 a.m. Funeral services starting around 11 a.m. inside the chapel at Hayes Funeral Home, 10412 Hwy. 6, Hitchcock, Texas (409) 923-3501, with pastor Marty Adams officiating. Funeral services will be held with burial at Alta Loma Cemetery. Join the family for an evening of celebrations for Shirley’s life, following the burial of her body at Arcadia Christian Church in the church’s fellowship hall at 14201 Beriton St, Santa Fe, Texas.
Memorials in the form of donations may be made in Shirley’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association at https://www.alz.org/texas.
