Larry Stallings, a longtime citizen of Covington County and announced on Monday, November. 6 that he is running to District 3 on Covington County Commission. Covington County Commission.

Stallings is the third generation farmer, cattleman and rancher from the Rome community. He has been married for three generations to Vickie (Jacobs) Stallings. There are two daughters in the family, Stacey Martin and Ashley Odom and four grandchildren. Larry as well as Vickie are members of the Carolina Baptist Church.


He worked at the Solon Dixon Forestry Education Center as forester for a period of 26 years. He has been President of the Andalusia Farmers Cooperative for 17 years. He believes his duties as president have provided him with plenty of experience because he was an integral part of the decision-making process of AFC money in a prudent way that benefits those who belong to the Andalusia Farmers’ Cooperative.


“My main goal, in conjunction together with Alabama Farmers Cooperative, is to maintain the tradition of utilizing our tax dollars in a responsible manner and to keep the public updated on any new ventures. My pledge to taxpayers is to ensure that your money is used to benefit Covington County,” Stallings declared.


In the last 5 years Stallings was the director of Covington County Arena. In the time, he’s worked in direct and close collaboration together with the office of commissioners in order to keep and restore the Covington County Arena. In restoring the arena back to its original function (and later, some) sources have said that tax revenues of a variety are being pumped into Covington County as well as Andalusia. City of Andalusia. With the tireless effort and commitment of Covington County and city officials, additional revenues have been generated.


In the end, because of their dedication and hard work increased revenue has been produced in Covington County and also for the city.


In the event of being elected Stallings intends to do to the taxpayers as a commissioner for District 3.


“I believe that open communication and dedication to work are among the most important duties of an elected commissioner. I’m asking for your vote on March 5and together, we can work to work towards making Covington County a better place for everyone,” Stallings said.
