Students from all over the country and all over the world will pray on their school flagpoles Wednesday morning on September 27, just prior to the start of classes. They will unite their hands and their hearts to pray for their families, friends schools, nation, and friends.

“For thirty many years See You at the Pole (SYATP) has been a simple act of prayer. “SYATP is still about students joining in prayer to God and interceding for their future generation,” according to their website www.syatp.com.

“See Your At The Pole” was described by the organizers as an organized, student-led event, was started by an uninvolved group of teens located in Burleson, Texas, during the DiscipleNow weekend in 1990.

On the weekend of Saturday night Their hearts broke before God and they were burdened by the needs of their classmates. “Compelled to pray and pray for their friends, students drove three times to different school on the night. Uncertain of how to proceed, they walked to the school’s flagpoles and prayed for their classmates as well as their schools and teachers. They had no idea what God could use their faith,” their website tells the story of SYATP.

Three decades ago, millions of children from every state and nations will gather to pray on their school flagpoles. The ceremony “brings students on their school’s flagpoles in order to pray for their school leaders, teachers and families, begging God to bring spiritual and moral awakening to their campuses as well as nations.”

“Wholehearted” is this year’s theme, based on Jeremiah 29:13 NLT, “If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me.” During the ten-to-fifteen-minute event before school starts on September 27, students who choose to attend are asked to pray for God to bring moral and spiritual awakening to their campuses and countries.

The national coordinators of promotions of SYATP, “Every year, we’ve witnessed this day as a platform for a sense of unity among teenagers.” “See you at the pole” isn’t about the class a student is in or which church he or attends. It’s not a rally for political reasons or a statement for or against any thing. It’s about gathering to pray.

A guide online to SYATP states that “The most important thing to know what we are looking for when we are seeking God is to place all our energy into it. It is essential to appreciate God and our relationship with Him more than any or anything else we do. We must search for Him with all of our heart. If we seek God He promises He will be found. Therefore, be sure to pray! Tell God the things that are happening in your life, and ask for His help! When we call His name, we’re seeking Him.” This is a message that we all must hear!

A wise man once stated, “Don’t underestimate two minutes in prayer with God during prayer.” Be sure to pray for the students around the world as they gather to See You at the Pole on the 27th of September. In the morning of Wednesday when the pupils gather for prayer at their flagpoles, let us share our hands with them and pray for our children, their teachers their schools, as well as our country.
