William (Bill) Bindley Profilet Jr., M.D. (79 years) peacefully passed away on January. 2. 2024 at Grenada, Mississippi. He was predeceased by his parents and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. William B. Profilet Sr. Bill is survived by his beloved spouse of forty years Mary Wilson Love Profilet from Grenada, Mississippi, and three children: his son William Bindley (Ben) Profilet III (Mackenzie) of Gluckstadt, Mississippi, daughters Amy Love McGill (Ken) of Madison, Mississippi, and Virginia Love of Atlanta, Georgia and one great-grandchild, Grace Love McGill.
Doctor. Bill lived a life dedicated to his country and the community. Born to Greenville, Mississippi, Bill graduated from Murrah High School of Jackson with honors, and went on to in the University of Mississippi and the University of Mississippi School of Medicine. He completed his medical internship with a specialization in Pediatrics in Jackson’s University Hospital in Jackson and finished his OB-GYN training in the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. He was on the staff as the General Medical Officer and commander for the United States Navy, Middle East Force. Following the completion of his residency, He was appointed Director of Services in the Naval Regional Medical Center in Pensacola, Florida. He was discharged with honor and was awarded the National Service Medal and Navy Achievement Medal. Profilet’s work as a civilian took him to various communities across Mississippi as well as Alabama such as Canton, Ocean Springs, Laurel, Cleveland, Russellville, Andalusia, and then leaving after a stint at Grenada, Mississippi. He was a member of the Rotary Club and the Episcopal Church and served on the board of directors for Colonial Bank and Cleveland, Mississippi Chamber of Commerce.
After his parents, Bill’s favorite place for his college team was Ole Miss. He didn’t miss a single game or chance to tailgate and chat with his friends who were close to him on UM sports. For the past 12 years, he did not miss an away or home football game. His love for the Ole Miss group was his other passion. He loved the Ole Miss community and especially his “personal assistant” who became his closest close friend Sarah Smith Moore. For him, the wonderful women of Providence Companion Care were more than just caregivers. They were his family.
The family would like truly thank Sarah Smith Moore and Miracle Moore and the nurses, doctors, and staff at UMMC, Grenada, the tireless caregivers from Providence Companion Care, and many family members and close friends who they’ve relied on.

An event to celebrate life’s achievements will take place at a later time.
