Oxford, AL –The beautiful notes of trumpets will be heard throughout the day throughout the week as Jacksonville State University proudly hosts the 2024 Trumpet Festival of the Southeast. The event will take place on Oxford Performing Arts Center Oxford Performing Arts Center in Oxford, AL, from January 12th-14th the annual festival promises a harmonious mix of education, music and camaraderie to trumpeters students, teachers, and students alike.

The Trumpet Festival of the Southeast (TFSE) has grown into an iconic tradition, bringing people who are who are passionate about the trumpet from all over the region. The festival in 2019 is scheduled to highlight a variety of events that include masterclasses, concerts, new music classes, as well as the chance to meet industry-related vendors.

The festival takes place on Southeastern colleges each year. Jacksonville State University is honored to host the event in 2024. Oxford Performing Arts Center Oxford Performing Arts Center will be the ideal backdrop for this spectacular celebration of brass.

The event will kick off on the 12th of January the registration will begin from 5 pm until 8 pm, then an initial rehearsal for the ensemble from 6 pm until 7 at 7. The main event of the evening is an appearance by the talented Ashlin Parker at 7:15 pm, then an evening of Jazz Jam at Coldwater Mountain Brewpub. The event will be led by Dr. Greg McLean, Associate Professor of Music at Jacksonville State University.

The 13th of January, is a day filled with events centered around the trumpet. The registration begins at 7:30 am and will conclude with the warm-up at 8 am, hosted by Dr. Matthew Fredrick from Emory & Henry College. The exhibits will open at 9 am and will continue until 7 p.m., giving participants the chance to browse many resources for trumpets. The day will include large ensemble rehearsals recitals and performances by famous performers Jens Lindemann as well as Ashlin Parker.

The festival will be in full swing into its last day on Sunday, January 14, with an academic round table discussion for all participants from 9 am until 11 am.
