Dear Editor,

I’m posting the articlebecause on a Friday morning, I lost a friend from college to the same situation. In September, he’d suffered an unusual episode, was taken to an emergency room and was examined and declared OK. They suggested it was the result of an anxiety episode. Thursday evening, he started to feel somewhat off. Given the events that took place in September the family members thought he had to let it go. After he fell asleep, he woke up, walked around for some, before heading back to sleep. Her wife woke up to a loud sound that she thought was an episode of nightmares, and tried to wake him up, but got no response. The son was at back home for Thanksgiving. They immediately dialed 911 and began doing what the operator had instructed the callers to follow. EMTs arrived in 5 minutes, treated the patient, but received no response and then took his condition to the hospital. The hospital treated but was unable to bring him back to life.
If in doubt, go!
Jim
